Automotive accessory specialist, Ring Automotive, has launched a new flat tyre repair kit that provides a temporary fix for a puncture.<\/p>\n

According to the AA, it attended over 180,000 call-outs due to a flat tyre. Plus with vehicle manufacturers, especially on electric vehicle models, wanting to save space and weight, the spare tyre or space saver tyres have been completely removed from cars. This means there is a growing demand for replacement tyre sealant as more and more car models enter the UK market with a puncture repair kit as standard.<\/p>\n

Tyre sealant is now very common across the UK with an estimated 12 million vehicles on the road coming with tyre sealant. Once used, the bottle has to be replaced, plus the sealant has a use-by date.<\/p>\n

The sealant included in the RTK6 is a direct replacement for the original equipment tyre sealant and will seal punctures up to 6mm in size and can be easily washed out with water allowing, the tyre to be repaired if necessary. The RTK6 sealant is non-toxic and non-corrosive.<\/p>\n

Ring has ensured the sealant is easy to use, with the sealant working through the valve, meaning there is no complicated process of removing the valve core and doesn\u2019t need any tools to use. This procedure can be done within 10 minutes, meaning the driver can\u00a0get to a garage quickly without needing to call out any roadside assistance.<\/p>\n

Every tyre sealant will have a use-by date, which is typically between 3-5 years after being manufactured. While tyre sealant is not checked at MOTs, it is important to make sure tyre sealant is in date before use or otherwise, when the time comes to use it, it will be ineffective.<\/p>\n
