Pleased to hear that one of my all-time favourite track-orientated kitcars, the Global GT1 is available in kit form again. Until now, the reborn company was only offering the GT1 and its GT2 little brother in fully built guise.<\/p>\n

The Essex-based company has announced this week that kit packages are available again with immediate effect. These are for track use only, remember.<\/p>\n

The GT1 uses parts from the Yamaha R1 and you can expect to pay around \u00a35500 for a \u2018donor\u2019 bike from which you\u2019ll need the engine (180bhp), gearbox and wiring loom. The kit costs \u00a329,995 and includes everything you\u2019ll need apart from the bike parts. Meanwhile, the GT2 uses Yamaha R6\u2019s 600cc engine (130bhp).<\/p>\n

Originally designed by Phil Hazard in 1995 the project moved to Jon Lee at Lynx AE before it was taken over by the legend that is Graham Hathaway in 1999 who made them until about 2012.<\/p>\n

The very enthusiastic and helpful Ollie re-launched the cars in 2021 and has been working hard to remind people how brilliant these cars are. I\u2019ve driven several of them and it\u2019s the sort of car that wraps itself around and as long as you don\u2019t take liberties, will look after you.<\/p>\n
