Discovery channel\u2019s Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars<\/em> has shone a light on Sheffield-based, family-owned number plate manufacturer, Jepson & Co\u2019s vintage and classic number plates in the latest series.<\/p>\n

A big hit with the classic and kit car scenes, Jepson & Co recently featured in the show\u2019s first episode of the new season as Salvage aficionado Drew Pritchard teamed up with automotive expert Paul Cowland for a motoring mission.<\/p>\n

The duo bought and restored a Jenson Interceptor Mark III and in the first episode of season eight, Pritchard was seen researching the history of the car and discovered service history documents throughout the years. This included a collection of photographs showing the exact car with its original number plate.<\/p>\n

This discovery led Drew to Jepson & Co to have the vintage plate produced. Jepson & Co\u2019s facility was showcased in the episode, as staff members were filmed creating the original vintage number plate, showing off the production in action.<\/p>\n

Jepson & Co offers the largest range of vintage and classic number plates in the UK, from its HQ in Sheffield. Founded in 1894 by George Henry Jepson, the company is still in the Jepson family today, with George Henry\u2019s great-grandson Peter Jepson currently at the helm as MD.<\/p>\n

The company started as a sign writing business and adapted swiftly to producing number plates in 1903 \u2013 and has proudly been manufacturing vintage and classic, ready-made and replacement plates for over 125 years.<\/p>\n

Vehicles manufactured before April 1980 can display a classic black and silver number plate, thanks to Jepson & Co\u2019s vintage and classic plate range.<\/p>\n

The collection includes embossed aluminium, raised riveted silver, raised riveted white, ribbed acrylic, smooth acrylic, hand painted and self-adhesive plates.<\/p>\n
