Merlin Motorsport has a dedicated racing fire extinguisher service centre with expert technicians on hand. They are authorised by both Lifeline and SPA Design to service their extinguisher systems.<\/p>\n

Generally, a mechanical extinguisher will take up to one hour while an electrical system can take up to three hours to recharge depending on whether the system has been discharged. If so, it will require the firing head to be rearmed.\u00a0If you’re visiting Castle Combe Circuit then this can normally be undertaken while you wait.<\/p>\n

If you’re not local to Chippenham, then you can send them your extinguisher and they will endeavour to service and return it to you within 24 hours of receipt.<\/p>\n

Please contact them before you send your extinguisher so that they can confirm yours is one that they can service.\u00a0There are just a couple of models which must be serviced by the manufacturer only. They can determine this with just a couple of quick questions.<\/p>\n

To comply with Motorsport UK regulations fire extinguisher systems must be checked and serviced every two years. On completion of the service, a new date label is applied to your extinguisher making it valid for racing for a further two years.\u00a0Fire extinguisher bottles older than 10 years cannot be serviced.<\/p>\n
