At the Geneva International Motor Show in 2019, Bugatti announced a 110th<\/sup>\u00a0birthday present to themselves, the re-imagining of the original \u2018Bugatti Baby\u2019<\/p>\n

Since then the design concept has been completed and the little car has gone into series production with deliveries commencing soon.<\/p>\n

Developed in partnership with The Little Car Company, the Baby II has been described by those who have had the opportunity to drive it as \u2018more of an unruly teenager than a Baby\u2019.<\/p>\n

While all 500 cars were accounted for within three weeks of its announcement, some clients have had a change in circumstances due to recent global events, meaning a very few build slots have become available and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.<\/p>\n

The original Bugatti Baby was born in 1926 when Ettore and his son Jean decided to build a scaled-down Type 35 for Ettore\u2019s youngest son, Roland, for his fourth birthday.<\/p>\n

Reaction to it was so positive, however, that the Baby went into production and was available between 1927 and 1936. Cherished by Bugatti enthusiasts worldwide, today no collection is complete without a Baby. However, with only around 500 ever made, they have been the preserve of the lucky few.<\/p>\n

Three versions of the Baby II are available \u2013 Base model, which has a composite body and a 1.4kWh battery pack, the Vitesse with a carbon-fibre body, a 2.8kWh battery including a \u2018Speed Key\u2019 just like the full-size current model, the Chiron.<\/p>\n

Finally, there\u2019s the Pur Sang (Pure Blood) model targeted at collectors. It has the same battery pack as the Vitesse but features a hand-formed aluminium body, which takes 200 man-hours to build.<\/p>\n

Base and Vitesse both have two modes \u2013 \u2018Novice\u201d limited to 12mph and \u2018Expert\u2019 which allows the car to do 30mph! Meanwhile, the Vitesse and Pur Sang can deploy the speed key to unlock an extra mode allowing a 42mph (crikey, it only weighs 230kg so 42mph will feel like 142mph in that \u2013 Ed)!<\/p>\n

The Bugatti Baby II really is a work of art. Base model prices start at \u20ac30,000, Vitesse at \u20ac43,000 and Pur Sang from \u20ac58,500. More from\u00a0www.bugattibaby.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
