{"id":18028,"date":"2019-10-31T21:04:56","date_gmt":"2019-10-31T21:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/?p=18028"},"modified":"2019-10-31T21:04:56","modified_gmt":"2019-10-31T21:04:56","slug":"whole-lotta-rosie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkc.grainwork.co.uk\/index.php\/2019\/10\/31\/whole-lotta-rosie\/","title":{"rendered":"WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/news_rsretro.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-18029\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/news_rsretro-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>RS Retro, who wowed the kitcar scene this year with their stunning RS 200 replica has been busy working on a pastiche of \u2018Rosie\u2019 an infamous version of the iconic Ford that attacked the Pikes Peak hillclimb in the hands of ex-rallycross mainman, Pat Doran.<\/p>\n<p>Although Doran crashed heavily at the Colorado venue in 2013, RS Retro has several panels from the original car that will be used on their replica, which will use the feisty Ford EcoBoost 3.6-litre V6 engine, normally seen on the current Ford GT supercar.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18030\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18030\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/news_rsretro_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-18030\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/news_rsretro_2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18030\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">RS Retro will be using some original panels from the iconic Pat Doran -driven &#8216;Rosie&#8217;, which crashed at Pikes Peak in 2013, on their replica of the car<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>RS Retro\u2019s Dale Read, a boffin when it comes to electronic systems, is working on a controller that will make the GT\u2019s seven-speed DSG gearbox and Audi R8-derived four-wheel drive set-up work with the EcoBoost unit.<\/p>\n<p>Dale plans to offer this on more \u2018normal\u2019 versions of the company\u2019s RS200 clone along with a converter plate to suit the Volvo T5 engine (as per Ford Focus RS and ST) and marry it to a rear wheel drive configuration.<\/p>\n<p>Exciting times, for sure.
