Only seventy JD70s will be built \u2013 one for each year of Joop\u2019s life (so far!).<\/p>\n<p>Donkervoort tasked his team to develop the innovative JD70 at their Lelystad headquarters and it builds on Joop\u2019s commitment to raw driving skill.The JD70 is an evolution of the existing D8 GTO family, which took Donkervoort into a new stratosphere of supercar-killing performance and has spawned specialised race and trackday versions as well as more comfortable touring editions.<\/p>\n<p>Like the D8 GTO, the JD70 will weigh less than 700kg through Donkervoort\u2019s lightweight EX-CORE\u00ae carbon-fibre technology, adjudged so clever it earned the company a European Union innovation grant.<\/p>\n<p>EX-CORE\u00ae will not only make the JD70 very light, but immensely strong and fully compliant with the European Community\u2019s Small Series type approval crash regulations.
