When Carol presented me with a couple of brass saucepans she\u2019d picked up for a song at a local charity shop, I was aghast.<\/p>\n

She reckoned that because I had loads of car care stuff and metal polishes it would be easy for me to bring them up nicely and take them back to a glossy finish. They were in a terrible state, not only un-cared for but also dirty and caked in grease.<\/p>\n
