{"id":13853,"date":"2018-01-18T19:23:50","date_gmt":"2018-01-18T19:23:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/?p=13853"},"modified":"2018-01-18T19:23:50","modified_gmt":"2018-01-18T19:23:50","slug":"595-reasons-to-love-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkc.grainwork.co.uk\/index.php\/2018\/01\/18\/595-reasons-to-love-this\/","title":{"rendered":"595 REASONS &#8230;TO LOVE THIS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Great to see the marvellous 595S take its bow at last weekend\u2019s Autosport International.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13891\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13891\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595s_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-13891\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595s_1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13891\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I&#8217;m LOVING this<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We\u2019ve been following the little car\u2019s gestation period over the last couple of years and know full well the efforts, blood, sweat and tears that Bespoke Vehicle Developments\u2019 boss Mark Hill and his partner Shelley have poured into the project.<\/p>\n<p>If it looks familiar that\u2019s because Mark acquired the rights to the 595 Barchetta designed by Professor Peter Stevens in the nineties and marketed for a time by the Dove Motor Company. Originally, it was based understandably enough on a cut-down Fiat 126 platform.<\/p>\n<p>Although visually similar, it\u2019s under the skin where the major changes have taken place. A new chassis and a switch of donor have been introduced and where Mark and Shelley put their heart and soul into.<\/p>\n<p>The first demo car displayed at the NEC last week, resplendent in powder blue features Aprilia RSV Mille engine and other items such as instrument binnacle, oil cooler, oil catch tank and fuel pump.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13892\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13892\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595s_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-13892\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595s_2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The detailing on this car is first class. Headlights came from Japan.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13893\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13893\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595S-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13893 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595S-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13893\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cool rear lights<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The RSV Mille\u2019s engine (built by Rotax) is a 60-degree v-twin of 998cc that delivers 110bhp. Mark reckons that it\u2019s possible to buy a suitable \u2018donor\u2019 bike for around \u00a33000 and as a bike that \u2018breaks\u2019 well a rebate of around \u00a32000 on un-needed parts is more than possible.<\/p>\n<p>Going this route, it should be able to DIY-build a very passable example from around \u00a312,000 or to replicate the splendour of the demo car would take a budget of circa \u00a316,000.<\/p>\n<p>There certainly are some beautiful touches on the demonstrator, highlighting the painstaking detail that Mark has gone to. The beautiful Bertone magnesium wheels (195 40 R14) suit the car really well and a set was hunted down. Other stand-out areas are the headlights and rear lenses while the \u2018smiley\u2019 third brake light is a winner too.<\/p>\n<p>Mark has also announced two other options \u2013 Fiat 850cc TwinAir two-cylinder unit as found in the current Fiat 500 available in three strengths \u2013 normally-aspirated 60bhp or turbocharged 85bhp and 105bhp variants \u2013 and seem to be ideally-suited to 595S use. Alternatively, the latest Abarth 1.4-litre engine can also be used.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13894\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13894\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595S_5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-13894\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news_595S_5-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13894\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It takes a discerning eye to match a set of cool wheels with a car. These Bertone magnesiums are superb here<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This extremely exciting new launch has been a long time coming but Mark was determined that the car would be as good as it possibly could be.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll have the EXCLUSIVE road test on the car in an imminent issue of TKC MAG and will keep you posted on developments.
