Never one to let the grass grow, Stuart Mills of MEV is regularly bringing us new kitcar models, many of which break new ground in their design. However, his latest project might surprise you.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>A range of VW Camper-based based conversions that turn the T-Series ( T5 or T6) into a vehicle that gives it the usability, space and added comfort of a full-fat, full-size, not to mention, more expensive motorhome, with a whopping floorspace increase of 40 per cent.<\/p>\n

MEV has created the unique \u2018Pop-Out\u2019 cabin produced from GRP and available in a range of colours and in just two seconds you get access to a full-sized bed with mattress rather than the existing VW converted seat arrangement.<\/p>\n

The \u00a31984 inc VAT process includes the pod, steel bed frame and two catches for securing the rear doors. The fabricated frame bolts to the SWB van\u2019s floor and MEV reckon it can all be fitted in around an hour.<\/p>\n

What really is cool is that even with the \u2018Pop-Out\u2019 popped-in you\u2019ll still have five foot of floorspace allowing access to cupboards and kettle.<\/p>\n

Then comes the \u2018Pop-Up\u2019, which is a unique roof extension system giving sufficient headroom and space for a 1600mm camp-bed or bunk fitted lengthways on one side of your van. Side windows are included in the kit price, made from cast acrylic, which is the same as the stuff used in aircraft windows. All panels are made from UV fade-resistant GRP in either black, grey or white or any RAL colour of your choice.<\/p>\n

The unit helps reduce heat loss (GRP is a great insulator), prevents draughts and also noise associated with conventional canvas-based systems and costs \u00a31999 inc VAT.<\/p>\n

Finally, MEV has invented the \u2018Alu-Store\u2019 a lightweight aluminium cupboard system made from aviation-grade 2mm thick powdercoated A1. You can choose whatever colour your hear desires.<\/p>\n

The units are easy-to-assemble pre-cut to accept SMEG 9222 hob, RH sink, fridge and rolloer doors and the price includes all 22-panels (nine shelves) and can be fitted to both sides of your van and give commodious storage space.<\/p>\n

The outside panel set costs \u00a3539 inc VAT or \u00a3827 inc VAT for the full Monty including the inside cupboards.<\/p>\n
