In 1986, the kit moved to Country Volks.

TV presenter, Anneka Rice used a pair of FFs in her ‘Challenge Anneka’ TV show (built by Stevespeed) before she moved on to a beefier Dakar, but the FF kit was a pretty looking buggy, although clearly inspired by the American Balboa model (no ‘Rocky’ jokes, please!).

However, in the end, like most beach buggy kits the FF Buggy faded away and nothing much was heard from it – until now.

Back in the eighties FF Kit Cars & Conversions also offered the Countryman model.

Over the years, the moulds changed hands several times but FF-buggy owner, Gordon Newell, tracked them down and did a deal to bring them back to the UK. Along with his friend Jazzy Early he’s put the old girl back into kit production and will re-launch the model at Stoneleigh 2017, under the FF Buggies name.

Actually, it’s a bit more extensive than that as the duo seem to have taken over the mantle of occasional TKC Mag contributor, James Hale, by offering a home to stricken beach buggy models. They can also offer kits of the JAS Buggy, the Predator, Surf and Sidewinder all priced at £870 as well as FF in short wheelbase (£900) and long wheelbase (£1200) forms.

More information from www.ffbuggies.co.uk or 0845 643 5815 ENDS.

If you’ve been following the kitcar scene for a few years the name FF Kit Cars & Conversions was a popular manufacturer producing a nice <a class="mh-excerpt-more" href="https://tkc.grainwork.co.uk/index.php/2017/04/13/buggies-are-back-wheres-the-metalflake/" title="BUGGIES ARE BACK.
