{"id":11960,"date":"2017-03-23T18:34:35","date_gmt":"2017-03-23T18:34:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/?p=11960"},"modified":"2017-03-23T18:34:35","modified_gmt":"2017-03-23T18:34:35","slug":"11960","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkc.grainwork.co.uk\/index.php\/2017\/03\/23\/11960\/","title":{"rendered":"GINETTA CARS BUYS BLYTON PARK"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_11964\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11964\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/steve_says_blyton_1-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-11964\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/steve_says_blyton_1-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11964\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Richard Usher founded Blyton Park in 2011 and he&#8217;ll remain in charge following the Ginetta buy out<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As a big fan and follower of Blyton Park circuit in Lincolnshire, (indeed we held our totalkitcar LIVE event there in 2014) I was very interested to hear this week that it has been sold to Ginetta Cars.<\/p>\n<p>Blyton founder, Richard Usher, will remain in charge on a day-to-day basis of the 1.5-mile circuit he opened in May 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The last six years has seen it grow into one of the UK\u2019s busiest and best-loved venues for trackdays, testing and general automotive-flavoured corporate events.<\/p>\n<p>Licenced by the MSA for sprint competition, Blyton Park also hosts a number of rallycross and grasstrack events, as well as supermoto series.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s to be hoped that Ginetta will retain the flavour of the place and I\u2019m sure they will and they have announced that they will look to include additional circuit configurations along with improved facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Portlock, Ginetta Commercial Director said: \u201cThe purchase of Blyton Park made ideal business sense to Ginetta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s one of the UK\u2019s biggest testing facilities and we are one of its biggest customers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11966\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11966\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/steve_says_blyton_2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-11966\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/steve_says_blyton_2-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11966\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Billiard-smooth 1.5-mile layout at Blyton Park is one of the UK&#8217;s most popular trackday venues. Indeed we ran out totalkitcar LIVE event there in 2014 and are big fans of the place<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe plan to invest in improving the customer offering and experience at the circuit, as it\u2019s crucial for us to ensure it remains \u2018business as usual\u2019 with all manufacturers encouraged to continue to use the facility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard Usher, Blyton Park Managing Director, said: \u201cGinetta is heavily invested in their motorsport career ladder while Blyton Park is an ideal place to hone your race craft whether it be on two wheels or four.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purchase by Ginetta is exactly what we need to continue the development.
