{"id":10847,"date":"2016-09-22T18:57:43","date_gmt":"2016-09-22T18:57:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/?p=10847"},"modified":"2016-09-22T18:57:43","modified_gmt":"2016-09-22T18:57:43","slug":"build-a-lego-caterham-seven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tkc.grainwork.co.uk\/index.php\/2016\/09\/22\/build-a-lego-caterham-seven\/","title":{"rendered":"BUILD A LEGO CATERHAM SEVEN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Caterham Cars has unveiled a brand new model, which features a rather different build process to its usual run of 500 or so cars a year \u2013 the brand\u2019s very first immortalisation in LEGO\u00ae form.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/news_caterham_lego_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-10848\" src=\"https:\/\/www.totalkitcar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/news_caterham_lego_1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"news_caterham_lego_1\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Caterham technicians have downed their tools and picked up the plastic, teaming up with the equally iconic toy maker to create the first ever LEGO Caterham, due to hit the shelves this October.<\/p>\n<p>The plastic bricks, resplendent in Caterham\u2019s typically garish yellow, create the beautifully engineered LEGO Caterham 620R, capable of reaching a heart-racing* top speed of 6mph**.<\/p>\n<p>Originally submitted by fanatic Carl Greatrix to the LEGO Ideas platform, in which fans can submit their ideas for new LEGO sets, the Seven gained the requisite 10,000 votes and the LEGO Ideas Review team selected the 620R to go into production.<\/p>\n<p>Consisting of over 770 pieces, including a replica 620R engine and gearlever, the LEGO Caterham stands 10cm tall and 28cm long. Other unique features, which may cause fans to blow a gasket include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Removable nose cone<\/li>\n<li>Removable engine cover<\/li>\n<li>Steering wheel<\/li>\n<li>Opening boot<\/li>\n<li>Functioning axle stands which allow the wheels to be removed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Caterham Chief Commercial Officer, David Ridley, said: \u201cCaterham has always prided itself on producing bespoke, hand-built cars for its customers.
